If you have noticed your face losing some of its firmness and definition, you are not alone. Facial ageing is not just about the skin. It also involves the muscles underneath, which naturally lose tone and strength over time. Emface is a non-invasive treatment designed to address exactly that.
What Is Emface?
Emface is a non-invasive facial sculpting treatment. It combines facial muscle stimulation with radiofrequency energy to improve muscle tone, definition and skin firmness, all without needles, downtime or surgery. Unlike treatments that focus purely on the skin’s surface, Emface works on two levels at once. Radiofrequency energy heats the deeper layers of the skin to support collagen and elastin production, while the muscle stimulation component works the facial muscles in a way that is simply not possible through everyday facial expressions or exercises.
How Does Emface Work?
The treatment uses applicators placed on the treatment area during each session. These deliver two technologies simultaneously. Radiofrequency energy heats the skin’s deeper layers, encouraging the body to produce more collagen and elastin. This is what supports smoother, firmer skin over time. HIFES (High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation) contracts the facial muscles repeatedly during the session, similar in principle to how resistance training builds muscle in the body. Over a course of sessions, this can lead to visibly improved muscle tone and a more lifted, defined appearance. Together, these two technologies work on both the muscle and skin layer, targeting the root causes of a tired or less defined facial appearance.
What to Expect During a Session
Each session is comfortable and requires no anaesthetic or recovery time. You can expect a warming sensation from the radiofrequency element and a tapping or pulsing feeling as the muscles contract. Most people return to their normal activities straight after their appointment. Sessions are available for the following treatment areas, each taking around 20 minutes:
Forehead and eyes
Forehead and cheeks
Cheeks and submentum
Eyes and submentum
For those wanting to treat the whole face in one visit, a 40 minute full face session is also available.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
For best results, we recommend a minimum of four to six sessions, spaced once or twice a week. This allows the muscle stimulation to build tone progressively, much like a structured training programme would for the body. Results tend to build gradually over the course of treatment, with continued improvement often noted in the weeks following the final session as collagen production continues.
Who Is Emface Suitable For?
Emface is a popular option for those who want to address early signs of facial ageing without committing to injectables or surgery. It suits people looking to improve muscle tone, soften the appearance of fine lines, or simply refresh their overall facial contour. As with any treatment, a consultation is the best way to establish whether Emface is right for your skin and goals.
