Modified Peel – Acne

Acne is caused by the overstimulation of the sebacous glands that is caused by an increase in circulating androgen levels in the body.

This causes an increase in the oil produced within the skin, as well as thickening of the surface skin layer. This process leads to the blockage of pores, and entrapment and proliferation of our skin’s normal bacteria which results in the formation of an acne pustule.

If left untreated, acne can lead to permanent scarring, poor self-image, depression and anxiety. The earlier you treat acne, the more manageable it will be.

The modified peel is a broad-spectrum peel for treating dark spots, uneven skin tone and aging.

Broad Spectrum Peel

Broad spectrum peel exclusive to doctors. Medical assessment must precede peel application.

Composition: salicylic acid 14% lactic acid 14% citric acid 8%

Indicated for: dark spots, blemishes, irregular skin tone, acne and moderate aging (I and II)

Ideal for: dull, slightly wrinkled, sensitive and dark skins, chronological aging, superficial scarring and slight hyperpigmentation.

Lactic acid (14%) is an alphahydroxy acid (AHA) used as an exfoliating agent and encourages epidermal and dermal thickening. It activates collagen and elastin formation and increases hyaluronic acid concentration in the extracellular matrix.

Salicylic acid (14%) is a betahydroxy acid used as an exfoliant due to is keratolic properties. It regulates seborrhoea, and has great antiseptic, bacteriostatic and fungicide properties.

Citric acid (8%) is also an alphahydroxy acid (AHA) with exfolianting, antioxidant and anti-aging properties. It has a higher molecular weight than lactic acid and therefore a slightly lesser keratolytic effect.

In unique combination, these three acids achieve recovery of lost skin tone, texture and luminosity.

Chemical Peel for Pigmentation

Depigmenting combined peel. Especially indicated for treating dyschromia, hyperpigmentation and photoaging.

Combined peels are exclusive peels formulated with a precise combination of chemical exfoliants. This synergistic combination of substances makes it possible to practically treat the most specific and common aesthetic disorders (hyperpigmentation, acne, aging, etc.) by maximizing the properties of each agent to give an overall result

Phytic acid (6%) acts as powerful copper chelating agent, copper being an essential cofactor for activating tyrosinase. It has depigmenting and antioxidant effects

Tranexamic acid (3%) inhibits the inflammatory and vascular components of hyperpigmentation

Chemical Peel for Anti-Aging

Mandelic acid 30% peel that gently and gradually penetrates the skin. It stimulates collagen and proteoglycan synthesis, encouraging skin rejuvenation and allowing gentler, more gradual exfoliation. Indicated for oily and seborrheic skin and/or individuals with dyschromia.

Mandelic acid stimulates collagen and proteoglycan synthesis, boosting skin rejuvenation. Due to its larger molecular size, it penetrates the skin more slowly than glycolic acid for gentler, more gradual exfoliation.

Photoaging Peel

30% · 40% · 50%

gentle, progressive penetration
thick, greasy, seborrhoeic skins and/or with dyschromia

mesoestetic´s Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid extracted from almonds and especially useful for skins with a combination of photoaging, acne and hyperpigmentation.
